This one dates a while back. I had been searching obsessively for it asking a lot of people in the know. Probably the sickest balearic house tune ever. Gwen Guthrie's sampled voice makes all the difference.

If your wife left you recently or it happened to be fired, or you just had a rough day, or you just need a reason to escape reality for a while, instead of paying silly money on a shrink or antidepressants just put this video on. If you still haven't been introduced to the wonderful world of Gontiti it's about time you do. Everything about these two gifted musicians is magical. From the sleeves of the their records to their parted hair and suits. There are five parts to this live recording. I spent the whole evening yesterday lost in this daydreaming of a soft breeze caressing my skin while lying under the sun around noon time.

So. This is a special moment. This blog started on an evening of May 5 years ago. It followed me through one of the happiest times of my life where i could see no shadows in my future. Some time ago i decided to put an end to it's life. This blog after all was all about summer. And the madness of it. The Mediterranean sun, summer lovers, smiles, Ibiza, you, me, our life together, our tanned bodies, slow ships cruising the Aegean to unknown islands. I feel it's time for this blog to begin again. Without knowing for how long. Just a crazy idea that went through my head yesterday evening. As crazy it can be thinking of you still. The summer is upon us. Plaidmusic will be cruising the Med again for a few months. We will be your humble captains if you will be our precious crew. We promise to treat you well. And make you dream once again. Because dreaming is for free.

All good things come to an end eventually. It was the most natural thing for this blog to die sometime.Probably the best thing i got all the years it was running was all the amazing people i met.And that is enough to make me so grateful.I want to thank everyone that was involved in it and helped in anyway.Everyone that commented or contributed. And i want to apologise sincerely to all the people that kept writing me emails for all this time promoting their music and i did not have a chance to preview here.A big thanks again to all of you.

Here at Plaidmusic we have been fans of Coyote almost since the beginning of this blog.In my opinion Coyote is one of the few music projects that is so true to their balearic leanings and stick to the purist side of this genre that has been abused in many ways by people who think that the ''b'' word can be sticked like a 'buy it'' logo next to so many things that are utterly worthless.
Their new album came as no surprise and is once again a great excursion to the white painted walls of the Mediterranean islands.Almost everything you love about 'balearic'' is here.Echoes of the Grid,The Beloved,Jose Padilla and endless sunsets are all here.I could go further and call this an ''afternoon'' record since i think it carries a really sunny and optimistic feeling all over it.Personal favourites here are Love,Keep Breathing,Our Time and Work of Art.
If you want a modern pop record that is real and to it's purpose and can talk to your heart this is a must have.Half Man Half Coyote comes out on June 2011 only in a limited 500 heavy vinyl pressing.

About a year ago one of my best friends passed away so suddenly. It's really hard to swallow the fact that someone that has gone is gone for good. That you won't share anything again with him.I was listening to a track yesterday and i was thinking it would be so nice if Petros was around and i could share the moment.I was talking about him with a friend last night and he told me that all he could remember from Petros was his almost continuous smile. He smiled a lot and loved life in his own special way.He had a charm that was hard to resist. He taught me so many things and i honestly owe this guy so much. It's good to share a thought for those that are gone. It's like having them here for a while.I knew Petros would love this track now as much as he did back then.Death is the most inevitable event in your life and probably the most hilarious. And whoever invented it is a sadistic humorous cunt.Anyway this one is for you pal.
